Alex Song: I come from another country, I speak another language and I had no friend here. But people here don’t care about your past or your age, they just want you to perform on the field.
Some are integrated very easily but it took me more time. But now the time gives me a reason. My wife helped me the most because I didn’t know anyone here except her.
I also owe Alan Pardew alot because if he had read everything that was said about me before, he would never have taken me to Charlton. I learned a lot there and it gave me strength. And when I came back to Arsenal, Le Boss found a new Alex Song.
I was fortunate to know Mr. Wenger. He has always believed in me and has motivated me so much. He was right to bet one coin on me.
He was the only one who believed in me, I want to thank him for that.
I’m very grateful because every morning in training if I have a problem or something else, he’s always there to talk and help me.
Le Boss knows my story. He knows that my dad died when I was 3 and I haven’t had this fatherly affection so he’s like a father to me.
Every morning, he asks me “How’s the family?” so I’m proud to have this relation with him.
What would I be today? If he did not believe in me?

You can really tell how important Song is to the team…you can really feel that there’s a massive hole in that midfield when he’s not playing.
Such a key player.
